Under the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Compliance Risk Management Program, importers are subject to increased pressure from U.S. Customs to implement strategies that comply with the Customs Modernization Act (Mod Act) initiatives.  The Mod Act increased the legal responsibilities and liabilities placed upon the trade community.  Shared responsibility and informed compliance are the two main themes in the Mod Act.
